Job Title: Student Information System (SIS) Administrator

Position Summary

The Student Information System (SIS) Administrator is responsible for the management, support, and continuous improvement of the district’s student information system. This role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and security of student data while supporting staff and families in effective system usage. The SIS Administrator works closely with school and district personnel to maintain compliance with reporting requirements and to streamline data processes through innovation and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

System Administration & Support

  • Manage daily operations of the Student Information System, including user accounts, permissions, and system configurations
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SIS-related issues to district staff.
  • Provide technical support to students, parents, and families for Parent and Student Apps for SIS and other integrated platforms
  • Assist with integrations with third-party applications
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, procedures, and training materials

Data Management & Integrity

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of student data across the system
  • Monitor data entry practices and enforce data standards and validation processes
  • Perform regular audits and data quality checks
  • Support data cleanup and correction efforts as needed

Reporting & Compliance

  • Generate and validate required state, federal, and local reports
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable data reporting regulations and timelines
  • Collaborate with district staff to verify reporting accuracy
  • Analyze data trends to support decision-making and operational improvements
  • Maintain archives and record retention of student data

 

 

Training & Collaboration

  • Train and support staff on SIS usage, processes, and best practices
  • Serve as a liaison between departments (administration, guidance, and school staff)
  • Collaborate with program coordinators to meet their needs.

 

Process Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, efficiency, and data accuracy
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to streamline SIS processes
  • Stay current on SIS features, updates, and industry best practices

Required Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Demonstrated computer literacy
  • Ability to follow detailed documentation, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an innovative and analytical mindset
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with a Student Information System (Infinite Campus)
  • Knowledge of K–12 education data and reporting requirements
  • Experience with SQL, data analysis, or reporting tools
  • Background in education technology or information systems
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience

Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based within a school district setting
  • Occasional travel between school sites may be required
